TRAVIS Recommends: Inglourious Basterds

It makes you want to yell and scream, which is why we want to go see it. Written and directed by the psycho-frenzied mind behind Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino has pulled out all the stops. “Killing Nazi’s” as Brad Pitt’s — yes, Brad’s back — character, “Aldo the Apache” puts it in Inglorious Basterds. Essentially, think of Tarantino’s take on WWII with a bunch of illiterate hillbilly’s “getting Nazi scalps.” Only from Tarantino, only from Tarantino.

Oh, and in case you haven’t seen it (although that is unlikely if you have friends that are cool), here’s Joaquin Phoenix’s let’s say “performance” on Letterman. Honestly, if you ask me, it’s a great marketing act. Look, it’s working for us as we’re talking about it. But jay-sus, when times get tough we resort to this? Oh well, let’s keep going on. Just watch it and decide for yourself. But do watch it.
