Travis Reviews Local Music: The Fellowship – “Mix-tape”

The Fellowship will be releasing a compilation disc titled, "Mix-Tape."

I’ve watched these kids grow up. I’ve shared the stage, I’ve shared equipment, and I’ve even shared the toilet with them. But holy fuck – they’ve come a long way since then.

The Fellowship knows metal.

The four piece outfit hails from right here in Oakville. Our very own talent – and something to be proud of.

Drawing out a similar sound to such bands as Liferuiner, The Acacia Strain and Emmure, The Fellowship brings an all new element of metal to the local scene.

They recently released a new track, which will be part of their upcoming “Mix-Tape” EP, titled Obelisk. It features vocal talent from Straight Reads The Line’s very own, Adrian Levasseur. It is absolutely phenomenal, and is only a mere sign of what’s to come.

The Fellowship is on the rise. Keep your eyes peeled for much more from the band.

Later this month, they are recording an official music video for “Obelisk,” and posting a new song on their myspace titled, “Portal Time.” Next month, they’ll be hopping back into the studio to put the finishing touches on “Mix-Tape.”

You can pick it up in summer 2010.
