Wakestock Pt. 1

It’s been a really busy week so far, but it’s all going to work out nicely!

On Saturday I got up and headed out to Collingwood for Wakestock.  It was a good day for it too.  This summer has been surprisingly well tempered when it comes to festival days.  Last year I went to Edgefest and it poured and was a huge, cold, uncomfortable mess.

The drive was scenic, we hit the Holland Marsh and consequently hit traffic up to the Muskokas.  I GPS’ed a detour and we took the scenic route up to Collingwood.  For whatever reason we found ourselves driving down a one lane dirt road through a field.  I trust technology but it looked like my friend Levin and I were about to end up in a scene from Deliverance.  The GPS pulled through and we ended up back on the highway still on track to the festival.

It took probably three hours to get up there, and about an hour to get back, but the drive up was a good old-fashioned mini-road-trip.

The festival was scenic.  Lots to look at, wakeboarding, shops, random people (I saw a dude with about ten tiny braids in his beard), Levin wouldn’t stop talking about all the attractive girls.  Ah, festivals.

I’m not gonna say much about the performances, but I’ll show you in pictures.  With that many people at a show, the energy of the bands is amazing.  Enjoy the pics!
