Dine Alone Releases James Vincent McMorrow Record

By Curtis Sindrey

Dine Alone Records will release James Vincent McMorrow’s anticipated debut album on January 25, 2011. Last November, the label welcomed Dublin, Ireland’s multi-instrumentalist to their expanding roster by releasing his self-titled EP.

Self-recorded over five months, Early In The Morning is one of the first truly great albums of the Decade…’ according to The Dubliner. Laced with haunting melodies, epic story lines, and musical structures that compare themselves to the traditional folk style that emerged in the U.S. in the 1960’s, such as legends like Judy Collins and Joan Baez.

McMorrow’s vocal range and songwriting ability has resulted in invitations to play with some of the worlds’ most influential artists including the legendary Al Green, Tracy Chapman, Bon Iver, Mark Ronson, and Iron and Wine. Early In The Morning was released in Ireland in March 2010 and was incredibly well received. Hailed as a ‘striking and alluring affair,  one we’ll be reckoning with for the best of 2010″  by the Irish Times. The album landed the #1 spot on iTunes and allowed Mcmorrow to embark on his first Irish tour. He will be performing at Canadian Music Week in Toronto on March 11, and his first North American tour will begin in 2011.
